For more than 40 years Attorney Robert Astor was a litigator, trying civil and criminal cases in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts. He also argued numerous civil and criminal appellate cases before the United States Court of Appeals, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Appeals Court of Massachusetts. Over the past 20 years Rob has been retained by plaintiffs’ attorneys, defense firms and insurance companies to mediate and arbitrate cases in his areas of practice, which include medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, and matters including construction disputes, business disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and class actions.

Rob has also served as a panelist for numerous seminars, including “Screening and Handling Medical Malpractice Claims” (Massachusetts Bar Association), “Considering, Preparing and Conducting Mediation and Arbitration Hearings” (Massachusetts Bar Association), “Handling Motor Vehicle Accident Cases” (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education), and “Fourth Annual Communication, Apology and Resolution Forum” (Massachusetts Medical Society).

After over 40 years of actively litigating complex matters, Rob now limits his practice solely to resolving disputes through mediation, and conducts hearings in person or by Zoom throughout Massachusets. Whether the case is a complex medical malpractice or products liability claim, or a rear-end collision claim, Rob (an AV-rated attorney) brings his experience and interpersonal skills to work toward a resolution. And the vast majority of cases presented are resolved.
